1 cup refined oil
3/4 cup grated paneer
1/2 inch grated ginger
1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
2 pinches salt
3/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
2 tablespoon all purpose flour
1 pinch black pepper
1 pinch red chilli powder
1/4 cup roasted rice vermicelli
How to make Paneer Vermicelli Balls
Step 1 Prepare the mixture Grate the boiled potatoes. Put grated potatoes in a bowl and add grated paneer or homemade chena, salt to taste, black pepper powder, garam masala powder, chaat masala powder, red chilli powder, chopped ginger, coriander leaves and bread crumbs. Mix all the ingredients until well combined.
Step 2 Add bread crumbs If the mixture is sticky add more bread crumbs accordingly. Take a generous portion of mixture and make small balls out of it by rolling between your hands. Prepare rest of the balls in the same way.
Step 3 Prepare maida slurry Put all purpose flour/maida in a bowl and make a thin paste with water. Add red chilli powder and black pepper. Mix it well till there are no lumps.
Step 4 Coat balls with vermicelli Break vermicelli into small pieces. Dip each ball one by one in flour paste and then coat with dry roasted vermicelli.
Step 5 Prepare all the balls Prepare rest of the paneer vermicelli balls in the same way.
Step 6 Freeze Keep it in a refrigerator for 30 minutes to make the mixture firm but if you do not have much time fry it instantly.
Step 7 Heat oil and fry Heat oil in deep pan on medium high heat. Once the oil becomes hot, drop the paneer vermicelli balls slowly into it. Make sure that they do not overlap each other. Fry balls in batches, do not overcrowd the pan.
Step 8 Fry until golden brown Fry the paneer vermicelli balls until they are golden brown, turning occasionally. This would take about 4-5 minutes. Take them out over a paper towel or an absorbent paper.
Step 9 Serve Serve hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
